Jiaxu Chen (Charles)

Jiaxu (Charles) Chen has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Jiaxu (Charles) started their career as a Graduate Electrical Engineer at Meridian Energy, where they worked on hydroelectric projects from March 2016 to March 2018. Jiaxu (Charles) then transitioned to the role of Electrical and Controls Engineer, specializing in wind energy, from March 2018 to September 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Data and Systems Manager (Generation) at Meridian Energy from August 2022 onwards.

Prior to their tenure at Meridian Energy, Jiaxu worked as an Electronic Production Technician at TMD Consultants from February 2011 to November 2014.

Jiaxu (Charles) Chen began their education by completing a Diploma in Electrotechnology with a focus on Electronic Engineering at Auckland University of Technology from 2008 to 2010. Jiaxu (Charles) then continued their studies at The University of Auckland, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 2013 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, Jiaxu (Charles) Chen has also pursued additional certifications. In 2018, they completed the Working at Height - Advanced Course offered by Vertical Horizonz New Zealand, and obtained Comprehensive First Aid certification from the New Zealand Red Cross in the same year.
