Martha MacFarland

Martha Macfarland is an experienced educator with a diverse teaching background in English and gifted education. Currently serving at Meridian World School since August 2011, Martha has taken on multiple roles including Teacher for College Readiness and Public Speaking, Instructional Mentor, Debate Coach, and Coordinator for the College Readiness and MYP Personal Project. Martha has successfully implemented inquiry-based lessons and achieved notable student exam pass rates in the Diploma Program. Prior to this, Martha taught English at various middle and high schools, focusing on critical reading and writing skills, and facilitated professional development programs for teachers. Martha holds a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin, a Masters of Arts in Teaching the Humanities from The University of Texas at Dallas, and a Masters of Science in Special Education with a concentration in Gifted Education from Emporia State University.
