James Choi

James Choi, CFA, CPA has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. James started their career as a Sergeant in the Republic of Korea Army from May 2008 to June 2010. Following this, they worked as a Radio Show Host at Arirang Korea TV from September 2008 to August 2010.

After completing their military service, James joined Deloitte & Touche as an Audit Senior from September 2011 to September 2013. James then transitioned into the finance industry, working at Hyundai Securities America, Inc. from September 2013 to October 2016. Here, they held various roles including Institutional Equity Sales/Trading, Asset Management, and Equity Sales.

James continued to advance their career and joined Prudential Financial as an Investment Associate from October 2016 to August 2020. James then joined Samsung Life Insurance as a Real Estate Investment Manager from September 2020 to May 2022.

Currently, James serves as a Vice President at Samsung SRA Asset Management since June 2022. James will soon be transitioning to their new role as Vice President at Meritz Securities as of April 2023.

James Choi, CFA, CPA obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Accounting from NYU Stern School of Business in 2011. James also completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting and Finance from the same institution in 2011. Prior to this, James attended The Hotchkiss School. Additionally, they attended The Long Trail School from 2000 to 2002. In terms of additional certifications, they became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder in 2018 and obtained the Series 63 and Series 7 certifications from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in 2013.
