Ryan Trachsel has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Ryan currently works at Merlin Labs as a Test Application Software Engineer since April 2022. Prior to that, they were employed at Collins Aerospace as a Software Engineer from May 2020 to April 2022. In this role, they developed and debugged flight-critical visual systems software for the aerospace industry and prepared design documents and test procedures. Ryan also verified software performance through structural coverage analysis.
Before joining Collins Aerospace, Ryan worked at Sargent & Lundy from July 2016 to June 2020. Initially hired as an Associate Engineer, they eventually became a Senior Engineer with a software engineer role. Ryan'sresponsibilities included designing protection and control schemes for substations and mentoring entry-level engineers.
Ryan also gained experience as an Electrical Designer at Corbin Consulting Engineers from February 2015 to November 2015. In this role, they designed electrical systems for industrial and commercial developments and led electrical studies to determine project scope.
In addition, Ryan had an internship at the Tennessee Valley Authority from January 2013 to May 2014. Ryan worked on a project to develop and implement improved maintenance plans for control and protective relays, resulting in significant cost savings for the company. Ryan also created databases and software solutions to streamline data analysis processes.
Ryan Trachsel completed their education with a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2014. Additionally, Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of Oregon.
In terms of certifications, they attained the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification from Scrum Alliance in January 2022 and became a Professional Engineer (PE) certified by the Kentucky Board of Engineers & Land Surveyors in October 2019.
