Looking for a unique caregiving position with a fantastic schedule? This is the job for you! Direct Support Professionals work with clients through various life enrichment, employment, and vocational rehabilitation to more than 400 clients! As a Direct Support Professional, you will work with clients through fun and engaging activities that help the client’s everyday life, such as painting, pottery, sewing, outings, and so much more! We are the most extensive day program in Ramsey County, with a 60-year history of leadership in person-centered planning, self-advocacy, meaningful work options, and continuous innovation.

DSP Hiring Offers:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm set schedule.

DSP Responsibilities:

  • Encourage clients to engage in day activities, outings, and community inclusion.
  • Be engaged throughout the day with clients in activities or community outings.
  • Assist clients in personal care such as toileting, changing briefs, occasionally bathing, feeding, and preparing meals as needed.
  • Transfer clients using appropriate body mechanics and assistive equipment.
  • Assist in meeting the transportation needs of clients including, assisting in loading, and unloading of clients in a safe and reliable manner.
  • Complete required documentation for assigned clients.

DSP Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience working with clients who need assistance with personal care.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to use electronic devices, including databases and internet-based applications.

Essential Physical Functions

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of this position. The employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, and communicate daily continually. The employee must also be able to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, run, reach, push, pull, regularly move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. This may include moving clients who are unable to support their own weight or pushing and pulling wheelchairs used by clients weighing 100-200 pounds.
