Addie Cheney's work experience begins in 2000 as a Law Clerk for the Nebraska Department of Insurance. In this role, they drafted administrative complaints, represented the Department at hearings, and conducted legislative research.

From 2001 to 2002, Addie served as a Law Clerk for the State of Minnesota Third Judicial District. Addie drafted orders and memoranda, conducted legal research, and prepared jury instructions for trials.

In 2002, Addie joined Thomson Reuters as a Reference Attorney/Reference Attorney Consultant, where they worked until 2005. During this time, they provided legal research support and consulting services.
