Melissa Spencer

Melissa Spencer is an experienced mental health professional currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice at Merrimack College and a Crisis Intervention Counselor at Boston Medical Center. With a strong background in clinical practice, Melissa has provided evaluations and case management for diverse patient populations in emergency settings. Prior roles include supervising Masters students at the University of Mississippi, delivering therapy services at Communicare Mental Health, and various positions at Mississippi State Hospital, where skills were developed in group therapies, individual counseling, and treatment planning. Melissa holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Mississippi, a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Jackson State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Belhaven University.
