Haoyi Ma is a Research Scientist at Meta since August 2022, following a doctoral journey at the University of Virginia where Ma served as a Graduate Research Assistant from August 2016 to May 2022. During this time, Ma also held the position of Instructor, teaching digital signal processing to undergraduate and graduate students, and was recognized for achieving above-average course and instructor evaluation scores. Additionally, Ma has experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for various mathematics courses and completed a Software Engineering Internship at eBay in 2021, where critical work was done on a cloud-native distributed OLAP Columnar database platform, establishing maintenance workflows and designing data retention features. Haoyi Ma earned a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Engineering in Automation from Harbin Institute of Technology.
