Nicholas Avendt J.D., CAMS has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Nicholas started their career as an Attorney at Penn. Coal Land in November 2013 and worked there until June 2014. Then, they joined Newmark Knight Frank as an Associate from June 2014 to January 2016. Following this, they worked as a Special Agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from January 2016 to December 2017. Nicholas then pursued a role as an AML Compliance Analyst at Facebook as a contractor from September 2018 to June 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Lead Analyst in BSA/AML Compliance & Privacy at Metal since June 2020.

Nicholas Avendt J.D., CAMS, has an extensive education history in law and political science. Nicholas obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Government from Aquinas College - Grand Rapids, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Following their undergraduate studies, Nicholas pursued a Juris Doctor (JD) degree at Michigan State University College of Law from 2009 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Nicholas has obtained several certifications to further enhance their professional expertise. Nicholas became a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPPUS) in February 2022 through the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals. Nicholas also holds the prestigious Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation, which they earned in August 2020 from ACAMS. Nicholas further solidified their legal expertise by achieving the Attorney designation from the State Bar of Michigan in October 2012.

Lastly, Nicholas Avendt obtained the Chainalysis KYT Certification (CKC) in July 2020 from Chainalysis Inc., demonstrating their proficiency in utilizing their know your transaction (KYT) software. Through their education and certifications, Nicholas has cultivated a strong educational background and a versatile skill set in law and compliance.
