Head Of Research Team On Weather Forecasting & AI at Météo-France

Laure Raynaud is the Head of the Research Team on weather forecasting and artificial intelligence at METEO FRANCE since August 2011, with responsibilities including the integration of AI techniques to enhance weather forecast quality and speed, managing probabilistic weather predictions, and fostering collaborations across weather-sensitive sectors such as renewable energies and air traffic management. Previously, Laure served as a researcher focused on the development of the Arome ensemble prediction system and completed a PhD research role at METEO FRANCE from August 2006 to August 2010. Additionally, a brief tenure as a Visiting Research Scientist at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts occurred in early 2010, collaborating with the Data Assimilation team. Laure's academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III, an Habilitation à diriger des recherches (HDR), a Master 2 in Ocean Atmosphere and Continental Surfaces, and an engineering diploma from Ecole nationale de la Météorologie.
