Sylvain le Moal

Sylvain Le Moal has extensive experience in meteorology, serving since July 2000 as the Deputy Director of the Centre de météorologie spatiale at METEO FRANCE, which specializes in utilizing satellite observations for meteorological and oceanographic applications. Previously, Sylvain was responsible for the satellite data valorization division, developing imaging products and providing support to various clients, including forecasters and media. Early in the career, Sylvain held positions such as Departmental Director of Meteorology for Meuse and contributed to the development of real-time analysis schemes for cloud data from geostationary satellites. Sylvain’s professional journey began with roles as a forecaster and culminated in leadership positions within METEO FRANCE. Educationally, Sylvain is an engineering graduate from the Ecole nationale de la Météorologie, holding a degree in atmospheric sciences and meteorology.
