Bikas Chandra Bhattarai

Bikas Chandra Bhattarai has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Bikas Chandra currently holds the position of Data Scientist at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Researcher at the University of Oslo from November 2020 to March 2021.

Bikas Chandra'searlier experience includes working at the University of Oslo from May 2015 to March 2020 as a PHD Candidate, where they also served as a Teaching Professional from May 2015 to 2018.

Before joining the University of Oslo, Bikas worked at Kathmandu University (KU) from September 2011 to April 2015. During their time at KU, they held the positions of Research Associate and Researcher, contributing to the "The Contribution to High Asia Runoff from Ice and Snow" (CHARIS) project. This project focused on assessing the role of glaciers and seasonal snow in the freshwater resources of High Asia.

Bikas Chandra Bhattarai completed their education in a chronological order. From 2009 to 2011, they attended Tribhuvan University, where they obtained a Master of Science (M. Sc) degree in Environmental Science. Afterwards, from 2011 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) by Research in Glaciology at Kathmandu University (KU). Finally, from 2015 to 2019, they attended the University of Oslo (UiO), where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Hydrology and Water Resources Science.
