Frode Dinessen

Frode Dinessen has over 30 years of work experience, starting in 1986 as a Service Engineer at Delcom electro and then at Roland Scandinavia. In 1997, they joined the Norwegian Meteorological Institute as a First Consultant, where they played a key role in establishing the National Ice Service and served as the Leader of the Norwegian Ice Service. In 2001, they transitioned to Kongsberg Spacetec AS as a Software Engineer, focusing on product development for satellite ground station systems. Finally, in 2007, they returned to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute as a Project Manager, specializing in research and development for mapping Arctic sea ice from satellites, as well as participating in national and international projects.

Frode Dinessen began their education by attending Breivika secondary school from 1981 to 1984, where they obtained a degree in radio and television repair. Frode then went on to attend the Technical School of Electronics at Breivika secondary school from 1984 to 1986, earning a technician degree in Electronics. Later, Dinessen pursued their higher education at UiT- The Arctic University of Norway, where they completed their Bachelor of Science equivalent degree, Cand mag, from 1991 to 1995. Frode furthered their education at the same university and obtained a Master of Science equivalent degree, Cand Scient, in applied physics with a focus on remote sensing and earth observation from 1995 to 1996.
