Alexandros (Alex) Nathan

Alexandros (Alex) Nathan has a diverse range of work experience. Alexandros (Alex) co-founded Metrika in 2019 and currently holds the position of Vice President of Analytics. Alexandros (Alex) also works as a Corporate Training Instructor at Metis since July 2019.

Prior to that, they co-founded Aventrix Analytics in 2018, a company focused on helping organizations tackle business challenges using machine learning. At Aventrix, they applied industry best practices and leading research to accelerate the value of analytics investments.

In terms of their education, Alex served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Northwestern University from April 2014 to June 2018. Alexandros (Alex) held lab sessions for Master of Science in Analytics classes and also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant. As a research assistant, they developed algorithms for large-scale online and offline machine learning settings, primarily using Hadoop MapReduce and Spark.

Additionally, they gained experience as a Data Science Intern at CME Group in 2014, where they employed unsupervised learning techniques to detect anomalous trading patterns. This algorithm was utilized to identify various market manipulation practices.

Earlier in their career, Alex served as a Teaching Assistant at Johns Hopkins University in 2011 and worked as an Industrial Engineering Intern at Under Armour. At Under Armour, they created models to measure inventory capacity levels in distribution facilities, conducted time studies for warehouse tasks, and documented standard operating procedures.
