Matt Herring

Matt Herring is a highly experienced aviation professional with a strong background in helicopter operations and training. Currently serving as a Senior Instructor at Metris Global since September 2021, Matt specializes in advanced helicopter ground and flight simulator training for USCG MH60T. Previous roles include serving in the U.S. Coast Guard from 2013 to 2021, where responsibilities encompassed standardization pilot duties, capabilities development, and as the Safety Management Systems Department Head at an Alaskan search and rescue unit. Prior to that, Matt held various positions within the Coast Guard, including Helicopter Pilot and Public Affairs Officer. With earlier experience as a Standardization Instructor for Training Squadron TWO and Assistant Operations Officer for the US Navy, Matt has demonstrated extensive expertise in flight safety, crew resource management, and operational risk management. Educational credentials include an MBA in Finance from the University of Florida and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from James Madison University.
