Antony Cannell

Antony Cannell has a vast and diverse work experience. Antony started their career as an Engineering Technician at Smith Mining Equipment in 1994. Later, they worked as a Lecturer and Administrator at the University of Cape Town, where they developed and delivered the Foundations of Information Systems program. Antony also implemented various web-based systems for student registration and reporting.

Antony then worked as a Project Management Coach at Barclays Corporate Banking, where they successfully upgraded the project management skills of 23 Change Managers across Africa. Additionally, they served as a Management-by-Project Consultant at X-Pert Group, securing and delivering major consulting contracts for top companies. Antony specialized in project management training and won an award for living the company values.

Antony has also held positions at Generali, where they were promoted to Underwriter within three months and achieved significant productivity improvements. Antony worked as a CNC Machinist and Operator at Stackpole International before joining Turner & Townsend as an Associate Director. At Turner & Townsend, they successfully delivered several multi-million dollar projects and led the implementation of Nissan and Infiniti Retail Initiative dealerships across Canada.

Antony's expertise in project management continued at Colliers Project Leaders, where they worked as a Senior Project Manager for Roche Pharmaceuticals. Antony successfully delivered a high-end tenant fit-up project and provided project leadership in contract management and technical aspects of the project.

Their most recent role was as the Director of Engineering and Real Estate Project Management at Metro Inc., where they were responsible for managing the budget and schedules of capital plan projects. Antony led the planning, design, tendering, and construction of real estate retail development projects across Ontario and provided cost estimates for project presentations.

Antony Cannell attended Kingston University from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a BEng degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering with Business. Antony later pursued further education at the University of Cape Town from 1999 to 2003, earning an MSc degree in Project Management. In addition to their formal education, Antony has obtained several certifications throughout their career, including Professional Engineer (PE) from Professional Engineers Ontario, Professional Engineer P.Eng. from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), LEED® Green Associate from the Canada Green Building Council - CaGBC, ISO 9001:2008 Internal Quality Systems Auditor from BSI, and Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute.
