Xander Brehm

Xander Brehm has extensive work experience in data analysis, research, and evaluation. Xander is currently the Director of Data, Research, and Evaluation at Metro Housing|Boston since August 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Data Management and Quality Improvement Manager at the same company from June 2022 to August 2023. Before joining Metro Housing|Boston, Xander was a Senior Data Analyst and Data Analyst at Pine Street Inn from February 2022 to June 2022 and from February 2020 to February 2022, respectively. Xander also worked as an Associate at Canavan Associates from March 2018 to April 2019. Xander has freelanced as a Data Scientist, providing impact evaluations and developing analytic software for clients such as USAID and nonprofit organizations in Africa from September 2016 to March 2018. Xander also worked as an External Consultant for Oxford Policy Management in April 2016 and as a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research Intern for the International Labour Organization from August 2015 to February 2016. Xander served as an Evaluation Consultant for Oxfam from February 2015 to June 2015, and as a Research Assistant for the University of Oxford in December 2014 and January 2015. Xander worked as an Evaluation Consultant for the International Cocoa Initiative from July 2014 to November 2014. Xander's work experience also includes being a Research Assistant at Skidmore College from January 2009 to May 2012, where they worked on projects related to maternal education and child health, income returns to education, and human development indicators.

Xander Brehm obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics, Cum Laude, from Skidmore College in the years 2008 to 2012. Xander then pursued a Master of Philosophy degree in Economics at the University of Oxford from 2012 to 2015. In 2016, they attended the Santa Fe Institute for the Complex Systems Summer School, where they studied Complexity Science.
