Beno Tompa

Beno Tompa is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in strategic planning and application development within the transit and software industries. Currently serving as Director of Technology Strategy & Planning at Metrolinx since November 2013, Beno has also held various director roles within the PRESTO program aimed at enhancing fare payment systems. Prior to Metrolinx, Beno held key engineering leadership positions at companies such as NetIQ and Novell, leading large development teams and driving product innovations in server virtualization and disaster recovery solutions. Early career experiences include roles in software development and engineering management in healthcare technology. Beno holds a B.Sc. in Physics from McMaster University and has furthered education through leadership programs at Schulich School of Business and Harvard Business School.
