Engineering Principal, Supply at Metrolinx

Raymond Micallef, P. Eng., has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Raymond currently serves as the Engineering Principal, Supply at Metrolinx since September 2022. Prior to this, Raymond worked at Hydro One from 2004 to 2022, holding various positions such as Real Time IT Operations Manager, Manager of P&C Technical Services, Technical Services Manager, Team Lead Engineering Standards, and Grid Operations Field Manager. Raymond also gained experience as a P&C Commissioning Engineer during their early years at Hydro One. Additionally, Raymond served as the Chair of the Technical Advisory Board at Georgian College from 2013 to 2021. Before joining Hydro One, they worked in various capacities as a Field Service/Design/Engineer/Consultant in the non-utility generation, field service, designing, and consulting sectors. Raymond also gained experience as a Field Engineer in Training at Eastern Power and as an Electrician Helper (student) at Toronto Western Hospital.

Raymond Micallef, P. Eng. obtained their BASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto in the years 1992-1997. Raymond also pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) specializing in Energy and Infrastructure Law at York University - Osgoode Hall Law School, with a duration of one year from 2014-2015. Prior to their university education, they attended Central Technical School from 1988 to 1992, specializing in Electrical Technology Major with academic and trade streams. Raymond Micallef, P. Eng. also holds various certifications such as Professional Engineer, Electrician, 309A-Electrician - Construction and Maintenance, and Joint Health and Safety Training Certification, among others.
