Samir Gassanov

Samir Gassanov currently serves as the Director of Legal Services at Metrolinx since October 2021. Prior to this role, Gassanov held the position of Senior Legal Counsel at Infrastructure Ontario from August 2016 to September 2018 and worked as a Lawyer at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP from 2005 to 2014. Gassanov's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy–PhD Candidate in Social and Political Philosophy from the Institute for Christian Studies, with previous studies in various legal disciplines at York University - Osgoode Hall Law School, University of Toronto, and University of Windsor, culminating in an LL.B. and multiple certificates in specialized areas of law. Additionally, Gassanov holds a M.Phil. in Political Theory from The Institute for Christian Studies and a B.A. in Philosophy from Dordt University.
