Griselda Escobedo is currently serving as the Sustainable Community Schools Coordinator at Metropolitan Family Services since February 2022, where responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of a Sustainable Community School initiative at Morrill Elementary, managing staff, and establishing community partnerships. Previously, Griselda held roles at the YMCA of the University of Illinois as NAWC Special Projects Coordinator and Capacity Building Coordinator VISTA, focusing on COVID outreach and capacity building. Additionally, experience includes working as a respite worker for a family with a son with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and various positions in educational settings during and after studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where Griselda earned a Bachelor's degree in Education and Anthropology. Griselda's educational background includes attendance at Whitney M Young Magnet High School and its Academic Center.
