James Fielder

Head Of HR Operations at Metropolitan Police

James Fielder has a diverse work experience starting in 1999 when they worked as a Gas Turbine Project Officer for the UK Ministry of Defence. From 2005 to 2007, they served as an Integration Authority at the Ministry of Defence. In 2007, they joined Gecko Consultants as a Systems Engineering Consultant and then moved to The Niteworks Partnership as a Battlespace Architect until 2010. Since 2010, James has been working at BMT as a Principal Consultant, leading the Defence Business Unit within the Consulting & Advisory business line. In 2020, they also took on roles at the Metropolitan Police, starting as a Programme Manager and subsequently becoming the Head of HR Operations in October 2021.

James Fielder has a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BEng Hons) degree in Engineering with Business, which they obtained from Solent University from 1996 to 1998. James also holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Systems Engineering for Defence, which they obtained from Cranfield University from 2003 to 2004. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including P3M3 Assessor from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2018, Management of Portfolios Practitioner and Managing Benefits Practitioner from APMG International in 2017, Managing Successful Programmes Registered Practitioner from APMG International in 2016, ITIL V3 Foundation Examination from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2011, TOGAF from The Open Group in 2011, and Chartered Engineer from The Engineering Council in 2002.
