John Arnold

DCI Public Protection North East Command Unit

John Arnold has extensive experience within law enforcement, currently serving as DCI Public Protection for the Metropolitan Police since November 2000, overseeing domestic abuse and serious sexual offences across Newham and Waltham Forest with a command of 120 staff. Arnold's career includes roles such as DCI Human Resources Specialist supporting officer promotions, T/Detective Superintendent for the Royalty & Specialist Protection unit managing resource deployment, and various detective roles focused on serious violence, complex crime, and safeguarding issues. Prior to joining the Metropolitan Police, Arnold served as an Intelligence Officer with the UK Ministry of Defence and held positions in the Royal Air Force and engineering at Mott MacDonald. Education was completed at Blyth Jex Secondary School in Norwich.
