Kate Trujillo

Kate Trujillo, PhD, LCSW, serves as a professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where responsibilities include teaching in both the master's and bachelor's social work programs, alongside conducting research focused on supporting children and families affected by trauma. With a background in child welfare advocacy, Trujillo is also self-employed in research and non-profit organization work. Previous leadership roles include serving as Executive Director and Executive Vice President at The Adoption Exchange, where management of the organization’s core programs, budgeting, and public relations were key responsibilities. Trujillo’s academic experience includes teaching at the University of Denver and involvement in the Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental Disorders fellowship. Educational credentials include a PhD in Social Work from the University of Denver, a Master of Social Work, and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
