Director Of Communications at Metropolitan Touring

Dominic Hamilton has a diverse and extensive work experience in the travel and tourism industry. Dominic began their career as a Freelance Journalist, writing for various newspapers, magazines, and websites. Dominic then worked as the Head of Strategic Marketing and Communication at the Quito Visitors' Bureau, where they focused on developing the website and online strategy, as well as organizing press trips and communications.

Dominic later joined Metropolitan Touring as the Head of Communication, overseeing the company's communications strategies across multiple countries. Dominic worked on trade and consumer newsletters, press releases, website content, social media strategies, and coordinated press trips.

Dominic also held positions at the Ministerio de Turismo del Ecuador, where they served as the Deputy Minister of Tourism Promotion, leading the team responsible for the country's promotion and attracting international investment.

Dominic was a founding partner of Wanderbus Ecuador, where they played a key role in launching the hop-on, hop-off travel experience. Dominic also worked as a Senior Marketing Communications Consultant for the same company.

Additionally, Dominic contributed to the success of Galapagos Safari Camp as the Director of Marketing Communications. Dominic has also been involved with Ñan magazine as a Collaborator, Sub-Editor, and Writer, and later as the Director of Ñan Communication.

Their most recent role is as the Director of Communications at Metropolitan Touring, where they head up the Communications department, overseeing internal and external corporate communications, public relations, branding, thought-leadership, and new hospitality projects in Latin America. Dominic has also focused on internal communications during the pandemic, creating protocols and updating entry rules.

Dominic Hamilton completed their education in a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a focus on French & Spanish from the University of Leeds. Dominic attended this institution from 1989 to 1994. Following their undergraduate studies, Dominic pursued further education at the University of London, where they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Latin American Studies from 1994 to 1995.
