Oldrich Bures

Professor Of International Political Relations And Head Of The Center For Security Studies at Metropolitan University Prague

Oldrich Bures is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in the field of international political relations and security studies. Since January 2007, Bures has served as a Professor at Metropolitní univerzita Praha o.p.s. and currently leads the Center for Security Studies, previously holding the position of Head of the Department of International Relations and European Studies from 2009 to 2018. Additionally, Bures holds a professorship in the Department of Security Studies at Charles University in Prague and acts as an external trainer and project advisor for conflict resolution with People in Need. Bures has contributed to leading academic institutions, including Durham University as a COFUND Senior Research Fellow and has served on various boards, such as the Accreditation Commission Czech Republic and the Czech Science Foundation. Bures holds multiple degrees, including a Ph.D. in Political Science and Government from Palacký University in Olomouc and a Master's in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the University of Notre Dame.
