Janie Nham is an experienced transportation planner currently working at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments since April 2021, focusing on regional roadway safety priorities for local jurisdictions. Previous roles include working at VHB from October 2015 to April 2021 on multimodal strategic transportation planning and serving as an intern at the Coalition for Smarter Growth, where efforts included a complete streets project in Prince George's County and a revitalization plan for Seven Corners. Additionally, Nham was a policy fellow at the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, where a policy analysis report was authored to enhance bicycling safety in Washington D.C., and participated in a pro bono consulting project at The Urban Institute to analyze the cost-saving potential of car sharing in municipal fleet management. Nham holds a Master of Public Policy from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Virginia.
