Mark Moran has been serving as the Program Director for Travel Forecasting and Emissions Analysis at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments since March 2001, leading a team focused on developing and improving regional travel demand forecasting models. With prior experience as Manager of Models Development and Principal Transportation Engineer in the Department of Transportation Planning, Mark has played a crucial role in updating and running travel demand models for the Washington, D.C. area. Additionally, Mark was a member of the TRB Committee on Transportation Demand Forecasting from April 2012 to March 2018 and worked at Fannie Mae as a Quantitative Systems Technologist. Earlier roles include Senior Transportation Engineer at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and Aerospace Engineer at the David Taylor Research Center. Mark holds a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, a specialization in Aerospace Engineering from ISAE-SUPAERO, and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia.
