Matt Petersen currently serves as the President and CEO of the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator, where the focus is on fostering an inclusive green economy through startup incubation, market transformation, and community workforce development. Additionally, Matt holds various leadership roles, including Director and Chair of the Climate Adaptation Task Force at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Board Chair for Climate Mayors, and Board Member of the Center for Environmental Health. Matt is also involved with Habitat for Humanity Greater Los Angeles as a board member, The Sir Edmund Hillary Institute as a Senior Fellow, and has previously served as the Chief Sustainability Officer for the City of Los Angeles. Matt’s extensive background in environmental initiatives is complemented by an M.P.A. from the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy and a B.A. in Political Science from California State University, Chico.

The district imports water from the Colorado River and Northern California to supplement local supplies, and helps its members to develop increased water conservation, recycling, storage and other resource-management programs.
