Amanda Busse has extensive work experience in communications and media. Amanda is currently the Director of Special Projects and Strategic Communications at Miami Dade College since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Miami for four years, starting as the Manager of Communications and Special Projects in August 2018, and later becoming the Director of Communications in June 2019. Before their time at the University of Miami, they worked at WFOR | CBS Miami as a News Producer, serving as a Fill-in Producer for the "CBS4 News This Morning" and as a Producer for the "CBS4 News at Noon." Amanda also held the position of Associate Producer and writer for various CBS4 newscasts. In 2014, they interned at CBS Television Studios, working closely with publicists and participating in press junkets for syndicated programs. Additionally, they had internships at WFOR | CBS Miami, CO Everywhere, and WEBN. In 2012, they worked as a Writer at Emerson Independent Video, and in 2010, they were a Radio Broadcaster at WVUM 90.5FM.
Amanda Busse earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Emerson College in 2014. Prior to that, they received an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Journalism from Miami Dade College in 2013. In 2010, they participated in the Broadcast Journalism Summer Scholar program at the University of Miami. Amanda completed their high school education at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy from 2007 to 2011. Currently, Amanda is pursuing a Master's degree in Media Management from the University of Miami School of Communication, which they started in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2021. Additionally, they are also studying for a Certificate in Business from the University of Miami Herbert Business School.
