George Guszcza

SVP & National Federal Director at Michael Baker International

George Guszcza, CCM, is Senior Vice President and National Federal Director. He is responsible for Federal operations, systems and processes across the company, championing collaboration, expanding the breadth and depth of Federal talent, and providing oversight for programs and processes related to Michael Baker’s Federal business.

Mr. Guszcza has more than 25 years of military, Federal and private sector experience, with a background in major programs and turn-arounds. As an officer in the United States Army, he served as the National Director of Health Facilities for Iraq in 2003 and was awarded the Bronze Star medal for his service. As a program manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mr. Guszcza led the Health, Education and Municipal Buildings reconstruction program for the Gulf Region Division and was awarded the Superior Civilian Service Medal for his accomplishments. Prior to joining Michael Baker International, he served as the CFO of a large contractor to the Department of Labor and COO and Managing Director for a real estate developer under the management of a private equity firm.

Mr. Guszcza holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and earned a Master of Science degree from the Said Business School at the University of Oxford. Mr. Guszcza currently serves on the board of George Mason University’s Civil Engineering Institute and the board of the Northern Virginia chapter of the Society of American Military Engineers. He is a Certified Construction Manager and member of the Construction Management Association of America and the International Council on Systems Engineering.
