Jen Nelson

Jen Nelson has extensive work experience in the economic development and public policy field. Jen is currently the Chief Operating Officer at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, a role they began in 2022. From 2017 to 2022, they were the Vice President of Public Policy and Economic Development at Business Leaders for Michigan. Prior to that, they held various executive positions at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, including Executive Vice President, Chief Business Development Officer, and Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Before joining the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, they worked as an Attorney at Dykema Gossett PLLC from 2003 to 2005.

Jen Nelson pursued their education starting in 1995, when they attended Northern Michigan University. During their time there from 1995 to 1999, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication. After completing their undergraduate studies, they continued their educational journey at Michigan State University College of Law from 2000 to 2003. At this institution, they obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.).
