Kristin Smith

Kristin Smith has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2008 with Duncan Solutions as an Account Manager, Program Analyst, Application Trainer and Application Configuration Specialist. In 2015, they began working for Northern Initiatives as a Manufacturing Coordinator, and also took on the role of Upper Peninsula MMTC Regional Director. In 2022, they began working for Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center as the Upper Peninsula Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center Regional Director. In this role, they lead statewide federally funded MEP programs to support growth and success in at-risk communities, provides coaching on critical business topics, and entices entrepreneurs to apply for grants to help them build businesses.

Kristin Smith completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information and Systems / Marketing from Northern Michigan University between 1999 and 2004. Kristin also obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Information Systems and Marketing from the same university during the same time period. In 2021, Kristin Smith obtained certifications from the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, including Applied Project Management (40 hrs), Lean Office Practitioner, and Train on the Job Trainer. Kristin is also in the process of obtaining a Lean Manufacturing Champion certification from the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC).
