Derek Tobias

Derek Tobias is an experienced Program Manager at Michigan State University and the Alliance for African Partnership since August 2019, specializing in program development and grant management with a track record of securing over $2 million in USG development grants. Prior to this, Derek held similar roles at Texas A&M University from January 2016 to August 2019, delivering extensive professional training under USAID initiatives. Additional experience includes teaching at the College of Micronesia, serving as a Security Analyst at 361 Security LLC, and fulfilling various educational and administrative roles, such as Project Assistant at the National Democratic Institute. Derek holds a Master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University and a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Michigan.
