Chief Scientific Officer at Microbial Machines

Jeffrey Wagner's work experience began in 2005 as a Research Intern at the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology. Jeffrey then worked as a Research Associate at Dartmouth Medical School from 2006 to 2007. In 2007, Jeffrey joined The MIT Dept. of Biological Engineering as a Graduate Student, where they remained until 2014. During this time, they also worked as a Research Intern at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research from August 2010 to November 2010. In 2014, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard School of Public Health and held this position until 2019. From 2019 to 2021, Jeffrey was the Co-Founder and Scientific Director at SanaRx Biotherapeutics. Currently, they are the Chief Scientific Officer at Microbial Machines, overseeing the research and development of "living medicines" for GI tract diseases.

Jeffrey Wagner's education history includes obtaining a Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they pursued from 2007 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed an undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College between 2002 and 2006, earning an A.B. in Genetics and Cell and Developmental Biology Modified with Engineering Sciences.
