Rani Borkar is the Corporate VP of Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure at Microsoft. Rani was previously the Vice President of OpenPOWER Development at IBM and before that, they spent 27 years at Intel Corporation where they were the Corporate Vice President and GM of the Product Development Group.


Rani has been instrumental in the development and delivery of some of the industry's most groundbreaking products, including the Pentium 4, Core-based fanless PCs, and Intel Iris with embedded DRAM. Rani also played a pivotal role in establishing Intel's presence in the tablet market with Atom SoCs.


Under their leadership, Rani's teams have achieved remarkable successes, growing the datacenter business by 17% annually and shipping 46 million Atom SoCs in 2014. Rani is a proven leader with a track record of delivering cutting-edge technology and innovation to market.


Rani Borkar began their educational career by completing a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oregon Graduate Institute. Rani then went on to complete a Master of Science in Physics from University of Mumbai. Finally, they completed an Executive Program in Leadership (LEAD) program from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.


Their manager is Satya Nadella, Chairman & CEO. They work with Ryan Roslansky - CEO of LinkedIn, Steve Guggenheimer - Corporate Vice President, AI & ISV Engagement, and Jean-Philippe Courtois - EVP & President, National Transformation Partnerships.
