John Moran is currently a MAM Senior Applications Engineer at Mid Atlantic Machinery. Prior to this, they were Hendrick Manufacturing's Engineering Manager from February 2008 to August 2016. In this role, they managed the tool room, tool service, and punch manufacturing departments, as well as the engineering, drafting, CNC programming, and lean/continuous improvement departments. John was also responsible for providing engineering support for supervisors and shop floor employees with an emphasis on problem solving. Other duties included researching, planning and executing capital projects; designing and calculating engineering estimates for custom architectural products andfabrications; and cost estimating of fabricating work and architectural projects.
In addition, John designed and developed perforating punch tooling; programmed CNC machines for Whitney punch/plasma and Trumpf press brake operations; and researched and implemented new manufacturing processes. John also trained employees in the operation of new equipment and new manufacturing processes, and led research and development efforts for high precision products. Furthermore, they assisted outside sales with customer visits and technical proposals; provided technical support to inside customer service; and interacted with customers. Last but not least, they worked with customers and outside tooling vendors to design automotive stamping dies; and provided support for maintenance and operation of perforating, stamping, and throat presses.
John Moran has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University Institute of Technology.
