Alex Vatanka

Alex Vatanka is a Senior Fellow at the Middle East Institute since June 2007, specializing in research, writing, and lecturing on Middle Eastern political affairs, particularly focusing on Iran. Previously, Alex served as an Instructor at LDESP, Naval Post Graduate School from 2008 to 2014, and held the position of Senior Analyst for the Middle East at SOS International, Ltd. from November 2009 to September 2011. Additionally, Alex was a Senior Analyst and Editor at Jane's Information Group (An IHS Company) from April 2001 to December 2010, contributing insights into Middle Eastern issues. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in International Relations from the University of Essex and a degree in Politics from The University of Sheffield.
