Ben Calder

Ben Calder has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ben is currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Mighty Kingdom, a position they have held since December 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Acting Director and Lead Programmer at the same company.

Before joining Mighty Kingdom, Ben worked as a Freelance Software Engineer as a sole trader from May 2020 to October 2020.

From 2017 to 2020, they worked at InnoGames GmbH, where they held the positions of Software Development Team Lead and Software Developer.

Ben's earlier work experience includes a long tenure at H&L Australia, where they worked as a Software Engineer from April 2008 to August 2016. Ben was responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and supporting software solutions for the hospitality industry. Ben worked in a small team and utilized an Agile development methodology.

Additionally, Ben worked briefly as a Java Developer at Innovation Science and as a Technical Writer at H&L Australia Pty Ltd, where they updated the online help system, set up source control procedures, performed product testing, and wrote release notes.

Prior to entering the software industry, Ben worked in the hospitality sector, serving as a Duty Manager at Bridgewater Inn and as an Assistant Manager at Marryatville Hotel.

From 2004 to 2006, Ben Calder attended the University of Adelaide, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical and Computer Science. During their time at the university, they completed a double major in Computer Science and also studied Pure Mathematics.
