Peter Yiga, PhD, is a highly experienced researcher focused on dietary health and food system transformations, with a current position as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Leeds. Previous roles include Research Associate at Mildmay Uganda, where grant proposals were developed, and Independent Consultant at Wageningen University & Research, addressing low fruit and vegetable consumption in Uganda. As a Postdoctoral Researcher at KU Leuven, Peter Yiga contributed to grant proposals and led groundbreaking studies on lifestyle interventions in sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, Peter has lectured at Kyambogo University and coordinated nutrition programs for refugee communities. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven, a Master’s in Human Nutrition from Ghent University, and a Bachelor's in Food Science and Technology from Kyambogo University.
