Valerie Gibson has held various roles throughout their work experience. Valerie started in 2004 at Lincoln Property Company as a Leasing Professional, where they consistently provided exceptional customer service and achieved high secret-shopping scores. Valerie then worked as an Assistant Manager, where they monitored expenses and performed bookkeeping functions for a luxury community. Valerie served as a Certified Training Associate concurrently, teaching new hire orientation and leasing courses, providing coaching and evaluations, and delivering standardized instruction for sales presentations. Valerie was later promoted to the role of Business Manager, overseeing daily property operations and leasing activity for a 496-unit community, with a focus on staff development and customer service. Valerie then became a Regional Systems Trainer, responsible for training and mentoring new hires, conducting web-based training, and supporting the roll-out of new initiatives. Valerie subsequently served as the National Training Manager - Systems, where they supervised training programs and initiatives at a national level. In 2016, Valerie moved to Mill Creek Residential Trust LLC as a Senior Software Operations Manager, with a focus on managing software operations. Valerie was later promoted to Director - Operations Support in November 2018. Prior to their time at Lincoln Property Company, Valerie worked at the City of Cedar Hill as a Manager, coordinating the National Trust Main Street program for the city and working closely with city officials and local leaders to achieve downtown revitalization goals.

Valerie Gibson pursued their undergraduate studies from 1997 to 2001 at Texas Tech University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Political Science.
