Julie Ashlock

Julie Ashlock, Ed.D., serves as the Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at Milwaukee Area Technical College since July 2017, where significant responsibilities include overseeing faculty development for over 1200 educators and aligning initiatives with the Achieve Transformation 2025 strategic goals. Ashlock has also held the position of Associate Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences, managing various academic departments and piloting the Second Chance Pell program. Additionally, Ashlock instructs workshops at the Cedarburg Cultural Center, focusing on personal creative development. Previous roles include Dean of Academic Affairs at The Art Institutes and academic administration positions at ITT Educational Services, along with instructional roles at the University of Oregon. Ashlock holds an Ed.D. in Higher and Postsecondary Education, an MFA in Painting and Drawing, and a BFA in Painting and Drawing.
