Assistant Director, Player Development Initiatives at Milwaukee Brewers

August Fagerstrom is the Assistant Director of Player Development Initiatives for the Milwaukee Brewers. Prior to joining the Brewers, August was a Staff Writer for FanGraphs, where they published daily articles covering MLB at the national level via in-depth analysis of players, transactions, and trends, with additional reporting from Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH as a member of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. In 2017, August was the recipient of the SABR Analytics Conference Research Award for Contemporary Baseball Analysis for their reporting at the 2016 World Series.

Before their time at FanGraphs, August was an Associate Reporter for MLB Advanced Media, L.P., where they served as assistant Cleveland Indians beat writer to lead beat writer Jordan Bastian for the 2015 season, covering all 81 home games at Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH. During their time with MLB Advanced Media, August also contributed additional web content and local reporting to MLB.com during road trips.

August got their start in journalism as a Student Correspondent Reporter for the Akron Beacon Journal/Ohio.com, where they worked from April 2014 to March 2015.

August Fagerstrom has a Bachelor's degree in Applied Communication (Journalism) from Kent State University. They also have a bachelors degree from Kent Theodore Roosevelt High School.
