Chih-Yi Gabriela Lin

Senior Research Scientist at MiNA Therapeutics

Chih-Yi Gabriela Lin's work experience begins with their current role as a Research Scientist at MiNA Therapeutics since 2022.

Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Proteomics at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from August 2017 to July 2022. During this time, they focused on identifying the telomere replication proteome in human cells and optimized protocols for purifying telomeric chromatin during replication.

From 2009 to 2017, Chih-Yi worked at Academia Sinica, Taiwan. As a PHD Student in Genome and Systems Biology (July 2010 to June 2017), they discovered boundary elements and eliminated chromosomes for programmed DNA rearrangements in Tetrahymena. Chih-Yi Gabriela also developed an in silico method for identifying boundary elements and deleted chromosomes. Additionally, they served as a Research Associate in yeast genetics (July 2009 to June 2010), where they discovered the RNA regulation roles of DExD/H-box proteins and developed a new genetic screening approach.

Their earliest work experience was as an MSc Student in Microbiology and Biochemistry at National Taiwan University from September 2007 to June 2009. During their MSc, they focused on identifying the catalytic mechanism of primer-independent glucan precursor-synthesizing activity of L-form starch phosphorylase from sweet potato roots.

Throughout their work experience, Chih-Yi has demonstrated expertise in proteomics, genome and systems biology, yeast genetics, and microbiology.

Chih-Yi Gabriela Lin pursued their education at National Taiwan University, where they completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry from 2007 to 2009. Chih-Yi Gabriela later continued their studies at the same university as a PhD candidate in the Genome and Systems Biology Degree Program from 2010 to 2017.
