Chenhsi Sung

Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer at Mindtrace

Chenhsi Sung has worked in the field of Computer Vision and Machine Learning since 2015. In that time, they have held various roles at Intel Corporation, IDEAi LLC, Contilio, Helmholtz Zentrum M\u00fcnchen, and mindtrace.ai. At Intel Corporation, they worked as an R&D intern, where they researched and evaluated state of the art computer vision and ML techniques and implemented several prototypes for comparing classification and segmentation performance. At IDEAi LLC, they worked as an R&D engineer, where they implemented an AR open source SDK for tracking and object recognition using 3D Computer Vision. At Contilio, they worked as a Computer Vision & AI Engineer, where they trained CNN models to implement object detection with 83% accuracy, decreased point cloud classification time by 9%, and designed and built AABB tree structure to link adjacent 3D objects. At Helmholtz Zentrum M\u00fcnchen, they worked as a Computer Vision Engineer. Lastly, at mindtrace.ai they are currently working as a Computer Vision and ML Engineer, where they are working on 2D/3D object recognition, classification, segmentation, and unsupervised learning on 3D point clouds. Chenhsi is also improving and maintaining the pipeline.

Chenhsi Sung has an education history that includes a Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture from National Taiwan University (2009-2013), an exchange program in Computer Science from National Tsing Hua University (2014-2015), and a Master's Degree in Computer Science from The University of Edinburgh (2015-2016). In addition, Chenhsi Sung has obtained various certifications from Coursera, including Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Machine Learning Techniques, Convolutional Neural Networks, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Machine Learning Foundations - Algorithmic Foundations, and Machine Learning Foundations - Mathematical Foundations.
