Jose Basurto

Jose Basurto is a seasoned professional in the mining sector with extensive experience in ore control and geological engineering. Currently serving as Supervisor de Ore Control at Minera Chinalco Perú S.A. since June 2016, Jose has been involved in the implementation of short-term valuation models and the review of resource update reports from the consulting firm Golder. Previous roles include Geologo de Ore Control at MMG Limited, Geologo Supervisor de Ore Control at Antamina, and various positions at Minera Yanacocha and Barrick Misquichilca, where responsibilities ranged from mining polygon design to quality assurance and control of geological samples. Jose's educational background includes an Engineer's degree in Geological Engineering from National University of Engineering, multiple diplomas in Geo Minero Metalurgia and Geoestadística from Universidad de Chile, and a recent program in Applied Geostatistics from MAPTEK.
