Boris Daza has extensive work experience in the mining industry. Boris began their career in 2003 as a Graduate Civil Engineer at HM Ingenieria. Boris then worked as a Project Supervisor Engineer at Restrepo y Uribe SAS from 2004 to 2005. In 2005, they served as a Project Engineer at Santa Marta Port, followed by a role as Project Engineer at HM Engineering in 2006.
In 2006, Boris joined C.I. Prodeco S.A. as a Mining Engineer. Boris worked in this role until 2011. Boris then joined Leighton Contractors as a Mining Engineer, where they were promoted to the position of Senior Mining Engineer in 2012. At Leighton Contractors, Boris led and mentored teams of engineers and interacted with various mine departments to ensure effective planning and operations.
In 2014, Boris moved to Fortescue Metals Group, where they started as a Senior Mining Engineer and later became a Short Term Planning and Mine Design Engineer. During their time at Fortescue Metals Group, they supervised planning and design engineers and provided support to senior management.
Since 2019, Boris has been working at Mineral Resources Limited. Boris started as a Technical Services Superintendent and managed a team of professionals in various areas, including short term planning, geology, survey, drill and blast, and environmental advisory. Boris then transitioned to the role of Mining Manager, where they continued to oversee operations and ensure ore delivery met specifications and budget targets. Boris is currently serving as the Principal Project Development and Studies, where they focus on greenfield project definition, scoping, and management for timely delivery of projects.

Boris Daza obtained a Master of Engineering - Engineering Management degree from the University of South Australia from 2018 to 2022, focusing on the field of Management/Engineering. In 2005 to 2006, they pursued a Graduate Diploma in Roads and Transportation Engineering at Universidad del Norte, specializing in Civil Engineering. Boris also completed a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the same university between 1998 and 2002. Additionally, they hold a Master of Engineering - MEng degree in Engineering/Industrial Management from the University of South Australia. Boris has obtained various certifications, including a First Aid Certificate and a WA Unrestricted Quarry Manager Certificate. Boris has also completed the Orica Safe And Efficient Blasting Course. Boris is currently working on obtaining a Civil Engineer Competency Certificate and a Mining Engineer Competency Certificate from Engineers Australia.
