Nicolás Lillo has a diverse work experience in the field of research and academia. Nicolás is currently serving as the Head of the Research Division at the Ministry of Economy, Development, and Tourism of Chile since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Chile from March 2021 to February 2022. Nicolás also served as an Assistant Professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana from September 2018 to June 2021. Nicolás pursued their PHD studies at the University of Warwick from September 2012 to March 2018. During their academic journey, they also worked as a Research Fellow at the Inter American Development Bank from August 2010 to August 2011, and as a Research Assistant at the University of Chile from May 2009 to August 2010. Starting their career, Nicolás served as an Ayudante de Investigacion at the University of Chile from December 2006 to December 2007.
Nicolás Lillo completed their education in Economics with a Bachelor's degree at Universidad de Chile from 2004 to 2008. Nicolás then pursued a Master's degree in Economics at the same institution from 2008 to 2009. Following that, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2011 to 2012, where they obtained an MSc Economics (Research). Their highest level of education is a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics, which they achieved from the University of Warwick between 2012 and 2018.
