Becka Thompson

Becka Thompson is a seasoned educator and producer with extensive experience in mathematics instruction and film production. Currently serving as a Commissioner for the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board since January 2022, Becka has been a Producer at Minnehaha Company, a boutique feature film production company, since 1997, contributing to the production of three feature films. Becka has held various teaching positions, including Mathematics Teacher at Minneapolis Public Schools, where instruction focused on English language learners, and at several other educational institutions, integrating art into mathematics and utilizing project-based learning. Becka's academic credentials include a Certificate in Acting from The Juilliard School, several advanced degrees from Augsburg University—including an MBA in Finance and a Master of Education in Mathematics—and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota.
