Sean M. O’Connell

Sean joined Securian Financial in 1993 as a senior analyst, specializing in real estate-related investments. He was promoted to second vice president in 2003 and during his tenure, he has developed expertise in a variety of asset classes and managed analysts covering real estate, structured finance research, and security recommendations for our General Account. Sean assumed the day-to-day management and oversight of the General Account assets of both Minnesota Life Insurance Company and Securian Life Insurance Company in 2020 and was named a senior vice president in 2021.
